Saul Morgan
photographer
Born and raised in the Midlands, UK, I come from a long line of photographers. My father was an amateur, and my grandfather actually occasionally photographed weddings. Throughout my life, I’ve had a variety of jobs—from ice cream man and aircraft dispatcher to a holiday rep living abroad—each teaching me valuable skills and attributes that I still use and apply to my work today.
Later in life, I returned to higher education to study Photography and Art History. It was here that I discovered a wide range of photographic styles that I quickly fell in love with. These being fashion, portrait, and documentary.
Documentary photography, influenced by greats like the photographers of Magnum, taught me to view the world with authenticity. I learned to capture candid moments that reveal the true essence of people and places—telling stories that will resonate for years.
Fashion photography, inspired by artists like Richard Avedon, emphasised style, creativity, and elegance. It allowed me to experiment with aesthetics and infuse my work with sophistication.
Portrait photography, however, has always been about connection—capturing the emotions, personalities, and unique stories of individuals.
Today, I am fortunate to combine my passions, skill sets and experience into my work as a wedding photographer.
Weddings are a perfect canvas where documentary, fashion, and portraiture intersect, creating a rich tapestry of moments that are both genuine and beautiful. I strive to capture candid, heartfelt interactions between couples and their loved ones, stylish details that reflect personal taste, and timeless stunning portraits that you will cherish forever.
Living and working abroad throughout my life has given me invaluable experience and insight into diverse cultures, languages, and traditions. This global perspective allows me to connect with couples from all backgrounds and adapt seamlessly to new environments. It’s also equipped me with the logistical skills and flexibility required to handle the unique challenges of destination weddings. These experiences ensure I can capture your love story beautifully, no matter where in the world it takes you.
Beyond weddings, I also work commercially as a freelancer, collaborating with clients like the BBC, Liberty’s of London, and Boots. My work has been featured in multiple publications, including The Telegraph and Woman’s Own—the latter making my mum particularly proud!
When I’m not behind the camera for work, you’ll usually find me with a dog (or several!). I’m a huge dog lover and spend al lot of time rehoming them, walking them or photographing them. I love nothing more than capturing their personalities—whether they’re striking a majestic pose or completely ignoring me in favour of a squirrel.
